This is the man the Speaker would have liked as second in command in the House of Representatives. Jack Murtha makes claims which are easily debunked as we see here this morning.
In what some might find to be a disgusting video at Hot Air, Jack ABSCAM Murtha claims that the head of Multinational Forces in Iraq, General David Patraeus is a political hack who talked to the media while in DC, but never addressed law makers.
Oh really? Maybe he should ask the many Democrats, and over 200 law makers, including Dems Hoyer, Levin, and Clyburn, who apparently managed to attend the briefing. I cannot believe Johnstown, PA continues to send this fool back to Congress.
All lawmakers were invited to the general’s briefing, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi did not attend nor did Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., chairman of the committee responsible for defense appropriations.
Pelosi’s staff cited a scheduling conflict for her absence. However, she and Murtha spoke by phone with Petraeus for 30 minutes on Tuesday, which she said was sufficient.
For the Chair of the Defense Appropriations Committee and the Speaker of the House to not attend this meeting was an insult to taxpaying Americans.
Be sure to check out the video. Watch as Mr. Murtha back peddles in the interview after he or perhaps someone else realizes his first statement was an out and out fabrication.

When a Democrat gets caught lying through his teeth by Chris Matthews, that says a lot.
This man is an antique and should be voted out of office. Both he and Speaker Pelosi had the opportunity to speak face to face with Gen. Petraeus but chose not to. Others decided to take advantage of the opportunity.
This man lives in the Twilight Zone. @-)
If I posted in error I am sorry..I did not know politics were out of bounds today.
I guess we think differently Ron. I suppose you buy into the Bush lied people died meme and that is your right but it is also mine to show that this man and not just on this one occasion has made statements which simply are bald face lies.
He is from my home state and had a good challenger in the last mid -term who will no doubt run against him again. Perhaps the people in his district will see through some of this nonsense…that is up to them.
Sue, I don’t buy into any of the crap that’s going around on the blog’s. I just don’t like all Democrats being lumped in together. We are not all liars anymore than Republicans are.
John Murtha may be a liar but that doesn’t mean all Democrats are.
I just thought it would have been better to say John Murtha got caught lying.
It’s your blog but it is supposed to be bipartisan.
I’ve got to watch the debate. Goodnight
I have never lumped all democrats in one pie. I did mention John Murtha by name and only him in the piece I posted.
And it is not just the blogs..look at the publications we have in this country right now. They think nothing of tarring and feathering anyone without a shred of real evidence. That is why when someone has their own words to answer for and it can be proven immediately to be a falsehood then it is time to take them to task.
I will not speak for J but I am certain that what she was alluding to is that Chris Matthews has become a left wing pundit and that is his right however, even he was tough on Murtha and that is something which I believe shocked everyone.
Hope this clarifies where I am coming from…and I cannot intelligently discuss the debate with you as I will not watch this far out from an election so you will not see comments from me if you post on it..I am not ignoring it just not interested in soundbites which may change 100 times on both sides between now and next year.
I’m not watching the debate either. I don’t want to listen to a bunch of men honing their stump speeches this far from the primaries and elections. I’m boycotting the early campaigning.
Sue, that’s exactly what I meant about Matthews. I was amazed that he held Murtha’s feet to the fire.
I have stated many times not all Democrats are bad and not all Republicans are good. Do you need me to reassure you of this every day?
That was why I started this blog. Take a look at our purpose statement. We will, however, call foul when we see one. And that goes for either political party.
We will be partisan on issues we deeply care about and will be neutral on issues that are not that important to us, but we will not become a Bush-bashing or Democrat-bashing site just for the sake of bashing.
Ron, we have never yet banned anyone from this site, but your comments are so negative I may have to put you on probation.
