A lost bassett hound from California has been found in Arizona, and a veterinarian with a pilot’s license has offered to fly him back home to California.
Someone had to have found the dog because it was found in the parking lot of the Second Chance for Animals Animal Shelter. Unless he can read I would surmise someone dropped him off there.
He was identified with the chip in his shoulder area.
Every pet we own has a chip implanted so if they ever get lost they can be scanned and we can be located to get the pet. This prevents accidental euthanasia on pets as facilities that would get lost animals are required to check for an ID chip.
If you have pets it’s a very good idea to get one implanted in him or her. I’ve watched them being implanted in my animals and none of them seemed to mind although the needle is necessarily large for the chip to go through it.
I’m glad Fred is going home.

This was a great story J. I was so happy for both dog and owner as we all know what it is like to lose such an important member of the family,
