I think my favorite Ratherism was in either the 2000 or the 2004 presidential reporting when Rather said, “This race is tighter than the lugnuts on a 55 Ford.”

Hi Guss-I don’t see it as mockery. I admire someone who can come us with such great similes off the top of his head. I think these are unique “Ratherisms” and I miss them.
