Kim from Musing Minds has tagged me with a meme.
I’m supposed to tell you eight things you don’t know about me. Hmmm.
1. In my younger days when I was married just a couple of years and we had televisions with tubes in them I used to diagnose and fix my own TV. I got a few shocks but fixed the TV.
2. I also repaired my own washing machine in those days. We bought it used and couldn’t afford a repairman. Since I was the one at home I fixed the machine more than once. I left the dryer to my husband as it was easier to repair. ![]()
3. As a young girl I would climb high up in trees and then cry because I’m afraid of heights and I couldn’t get down. Somehow I managed though.
4. I love the cold winters and snow of my native state of Maine.
5. My husband and I met on a blind date arranged by my best friend and my husband’s fraternity brother who was her boyfriend. We double-dated.
6. My cousin/brother Guss, a group of other kids and I would either steal cigarettes or roll our own from butts found and use brown paper bags for the paper. We would hide out in the blackberry bushes to smoke, thinking we were getting away with something. Problem was it was right outside the kitchen window where our grandfather always sat and we always got caught. Everyone else got out ahead of me and I got snagged with the stickers on the bushes and with the spanking from our great-aunt.
7. My birth family call me Susan though that’s not a part of my name. My husband and all my friends from adulthood call me Jeanette. I never answer to Susan unless I’m around birth family and never answer to Jeanette if I’m around birth family. Just instinct.
8. When hanging around my mother’s side of the family I find myself speaking what Indian I know, but never think in Indian unless I’m around them.
That’s eight and since I hate memes and can’t think of anyone to pester it will have to continue without me.
Thanks, Kim.
