Although he held great promise for this country. President Kennedy did the same as most politicians. They promise everything and give you nothing. I must admit that they make you feel good with their rhetoric.

Kennedy called his domestic program the “New Frontier”. It ambitiously promised federal funding for education, medical care for the elderly, and government intervention to halt the recession. Kennedy also promised an end to racial discrimination. In 1963, he proposed a tax reform which included income tax cuts, but this was not passed by Congress until 1964, after his death. Few of Kennedy’s major programs passed Congress during his lifetime,

I mean by passing legislation that will benefit me in some way. I’m tired of supporting these jerks when they give me nothing in return.

Just what is it you want the politicians to give you? Wasn't it JFK who said, "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country"? When, since his 1961 speech did we begin to ask what the country can do for us and not what we can do for it? If you would bother to check others blogs as I have asked you to do many times, you will see it is customary to report the deaths of famous people. I won't apologize for doing it here and I won't stop doing it. If you are really fed up with this blogging thing then maybe you and I need to talk privately and decide what direction you want to take.

I think we have all said that at one time or another Guss. That is what is so frustrating about something like this.

The lobbyists and special interest groups control most members in congress and we the people just get jerked around all the time.

It all needs to stop and then we can get back to the form of government our founders had in mind.

Don’t you think that it’s about time we stop taking sides in this country?
It seems like all we do is spend time defending political parties or writing obituaries. These people don’t give a crap about us. All they care about is getting reelected and becoming lobbyist. It’s all about them and we act like a little sheep following them no matter how outrageous they become.
Before I give my vote to another Republican or Democrat, they’ll have to earn it and I don’t mean by fancy talk. I mean by passing legislation that will benefit me in some way. I’m tired of supporting these jerks when they give me nothing in return.

I do not think you will get any argument here when it comes to Bill O’Reilly. He is no different than all the talking heads on both sides of the aisle who believe their own press and think America will buy in to their opinion only. And I do mean all of them, on both sides.

That is the crux of this problem though Guss, you do not see groups who support the right attempting to shut down political radio show hosts or television networks which lean left. This whole thing is ridiculous and once they recognize they will not shut down free speech, I am sure another cause will present itself.

I listen to big mouth O’Reilly threatening Democrats. People are just tired of it and aren’t going to take it anymore. He deserves what he gets. I can’t imagine anyone taking up for any network. Poor baby’s.

When I hear these special interest groups accuse the right of trampling on the Constitution it irritates me no end as that is exactly what they are doing in this instance.

Most who watch Fox News would not attempt to deny anyone their right to view whatever program they wish on whatever channel they wish. Why are these groups and those who support them so afraid of Fox? I think that is the real question here.

I don’t like O’Reilly either. I don’t watch Hannity and Colmes although it’s a liberal and conservative show akin to the old CNN Crossfire. These are both commentary shows. The hard news like Shepherd Smith and Brit Hume’s show are what I watch when I watch it.

Let me ask you a question: How would you like it if someone made a concerted effort to shut down CNN, MSNBC or any other left-wing channel by threatening their advertisers with boycotts?

The left has Chris Matthews, Olberman, Tim Russert, Stephanopolous, Matt Lauer, CBS, Jon Stewart, Bill Maher and others. That’s a lot more than what Fox has and it seems the conservatives should be able to hear shows with their point of view as well as the tripe the other networks throw at us.

And your video is one of the things they are throwing around, so I’m not surprised to see it. Jet Blue was sponsoring a gathering of Kossites who are as left as left can be without falling off the face of the earth.
