When I hear people in Congress refer to the President in this fashion it simply makes my blood boil.

Before anyone who is not a Conservative says I am partisan, let me say I mean that no matter what the party in the White House.

I was taught to respect the Office of the Presidency and I taught my children and grandchildren to do the same.

You wonder if these individuals speak this way in public what the dinner table conversation must be like. It is a shame if children are subjected to this kind of talk.

I just think these are inappropriate comments for any Congressman or Senator to be making to strangers on the street, especially when they are videoing what he says.

This is better left said in the Democratic Caucus or in his private office.

I’d say this if it were a Republican saying the same things about a Democratic president, though I hope I don’t have to prove it anytime soon. :)

There are only about 30% die-hard Conservatives that can even stand him. Clown isn’t too bad.
    I think it’s Clinton’s fault.

So, are you saying it’s proper for a Congressman to tell an ordinary citizen with a video camera the President of the United States is a clown?

I don’t think that it’s all right to call any President names. Civility is a rare commodity these days. I hope that some day we will return to the shining light of democracy that the world envies.

You know, I was going to say he wouldn’t say that to the president’s face, but then I thought about it and realized anything is possible these days. There is no respect for the office.

In my lifetime I can remember that the word President was spoken with such pride. No longer. We put them in to tear them down. I think that the most recent episode started with President Nixon and hasn’t ended yet.
