J, agreed, no one knows the day or the hour. I would beware of anyone who says that they do.

But as Hank says, this is an issue to debate, not divide over, so I look forward to discussion. :)

As you probably know, Truman, I am very much interested in end-times prophecy. I don't, however, think man is going to be able to set the day or the hour of our Lord's return.

I also agree Jesus was talking about the destruction of the Temple and the city in AD 70, but when you hear the descendants of Aaron are being identified and gathered from all over the world, (this is the priestly tribe) Jews are ready to lay the cornerstone for the new Temple, hear of all the catastrophies in the world and the global warming scare, it makes one wonder if we are indeed in the end-times.

I don't know how long the end-times will last, and I don't care, because I do believe in the Rapture of the Church pre-trib, so I'll either be raptured alive or as one of the dead in Christ who will rise first. Saying I don't know how long the end-times lasts means I don't know how long the run-up to it lasts. I know the Tribulation is seven years.

If I didn't believe this awful place we inhabit would end one day and become the utopia we all long for, I would have no reason to exist. This isn't as good as it gets and some people will be alive still when the Lord returns. I just don't know if I will be one of them.

It isn't anything that affects our salvation, but is an interesting topic to me.

And, it goes without saying we should study the Word constantly. Everytime I read any passage of scripture something new jumps out at me.

Thank you for this post and I look forward to future discussion with you.
