Two high school boys in Waterford, CA, were fighting. The punishment is normally suspension. Instead of suspending the students the principal made them get down on their hands and knees, look at each other through a chair and promise they would not engage in that behavior again.
One mother is suing.

The principal could have created a wider problem as other kids in the school will taunt these two for having to follow through with this punishment which could lead to further fights, verbal or physical.
I believe in discipline and punishment but I am not certain that I agree with the methods used here.
The military arguement in the video is not something I agree with. You have a sense when you enlist what boot camp will entail and while not ever fully prepared, all go through it together and may suffer the same punishment at one time or another.
As for suspension, if that is the rule on the book then it would have been the “safe” thing for this principal to do.
