Former Representative Henry Hyde has passed away
MSNBC is reporting:
Former Rep. Henry Hyde, the Illinois Republican who steered the impeachment proceedings against President Clinton and championed government restrictions on the funding of abortions, has died. He was 83.

Very few of this breed left. Although he opposed the Iraq War he did son on principal, not on “stick the finger in the air” politics. A man who meant what he said, and said what he meant.

I just caught this story on CNN and I want to give a quote of his last minutes.

You are fully entitled to your opinion and feelings. I guess I just cannot understand showing this much hatred towards any person.
There are many both on the left and right with whom I disagree on many issues, but I would hope that compassion for the deceased and those left behind would come to the forefront in their time of grief.
Just a difference in our personalities and make-up I suspect.

My reply was not meant to be kind Big Mo…notice I did not say I respected his comment or his tone. It’s never been my strong suit to be able to come back with a sharp or witty remark (wish I had that talent).
Let’s hope you are wrong about his type of hatred infecting the electorate (although it seems it already has to some degree)because if this is what the country has to look forward to then we are in serious trouble.
Those with children or grandchildren today will watch them grow up in an atmosphere of hatred which I never thought I’d live to see.
