The joke going around now is if we get government sponsored health care where will the Canadians go for medical treatment.
How would you like to be the patient or the patient’s family in this situation?
We know they are sending mothers to the US to give birth or sending the babies to the US after being born because they don’t have the room to accommodate them.
If this is what you want because it’s free then vote for the Democrat for president. If you like timely diagnosis and treatment vote for the Republican and keep the government out of your health decisions.

I don’t want government health care. Where I disagree is that the Republicans will “keep the government out of your health care decisions” and promote “timely diagnosis and treatment.” The health care INDUSTRY is a big business that will only get bigger as the population ages. The GOP COngress did nothing for 6 years but did manage to come in on a Saturday for the vote on Terri Schiavo. I don’t mean to turn this into a post of that topic, but rather to illustrate the GOP will intervene in health care decisions for political advantage. The Democrats want too much; the GOP will accept too little and both are willing to vote to satisfy HMO’s and the big pharmaceticals. I should not have my doctor’s decisions influenced by the insurance companies. When the doctor and I KNOW I need to be referred to a specialist, the insurance company should not insist on a formal referral. My spouse should not have to pay $110+/- for a prescription that is outside my plan for high blood pressure. I’ll be in Court for the next two days, so cannot watch this topic. However, I do not think the party is coming into this dispute with clean hands. The Democrats are proposing health car reform. The GOP are obstructing that without addressing the solution. I do not see this as black and white as you do.
