As I was saying my prayers before going to bed last night I asked God why He was always so kind to me? A child who wasn’t special, a teen and young adult who was ordinary, a wife, mother, career woman and now grandmother who was nothing. But I always had Jesus.
I hope you always have Jesus in your life too. He carries us over some bumpy roads, but we always get there none the worse for wear.

Dear J-God has been kind to you because you deserve it. You deserve it because you have been faithful to God through the difficult times I know you have faced. I know some of the trials you have faced because you have shared a few over the last several years. You are faithful and forgiving and accepting like Job. You-someone I have never met-welcomed me to a blog with graciousness and kindness. You are steadfast in your beliefs without condemning others. You are the most remarkable and special person I have never met. Until that last sentence, I forgot that you and I live hundreds of miles apart and have never seen each other. But you have offered me love as a brother in Christ and friendship as a fellow human being. If I ever had any illusions about Southern racism, you have shown me that is mistaken.

And remember, I’m originally from Maine!
You know your feelings for me are a two-way street back to you. I have never met someone who is as kind and gentle as you and who has been so kind to his nieces and clients.
May God bless you, your wife, the freeloaders, and your nieces and families. If I don’t get to NM we’ll see each other in Heaven. Deal?

Without a doubt and with a passel of freeloaders waiting to greet us (not sure if the cat will be going in that direction, however.)
