Tuesday Tid-Bits
That old cliche “A picture speaks a thousand words..well let’s just say the two photos in this post speak many more.
Memorandum links to an article which must be read to be believed:
The National Children’s Bureau, which receives £12 million a year, mainly from Government funded organisations, has issued guidance to play leaders and nursery teachers advising them to be alert for racist incidents among youngsters in their care.
This could include a child of as young as three who says “yuk” in response to being served unfamiliar foreign food.
The guidance by the NCB is designed to draw attention to potentially-racist attitudes in youngsters from a young age.
[Emphasis-mine]
I’m at a loss for words. How absurd!
Usually, if I see a Hollywood actor or actresses name attached to a piece involving politics my inclination is to pass but these pearls of wisdom were just too good to not pass along.
Classic case of “read the fine print.”
A West Palm beach, Fla., man is suing Verizon Wireless in state court after his family incurred a $9,500 wireless Internet bill in just 11 days.
Steven Sprague, 48, said he was given a free wireless card for his laptop computer when he re-upped his two-year contract with Verizon and the suit claims he was told by a salesperson that the unlimited wireless card usage from his previous plan would carry over, the Palm Beach (Fla.) Post reported Monday.
However, the card was broken by Sprague’s wife after only 11 days of use by the couple and their three children, ages 16, 12 and 8. Nonetheless, Sprague said, his bill for the month was nearly $9,500.
Have a nice week all!
