Just listen to this and tell me the media are fair and balanced and reporting objectively:
Thrills running up the leg, going to cry, throwing away objectivity, love like a ninth grader, I think about you all night, too embarrassed to stand up? These are our professional news reporters? Ha!

This brought up some random thoughts to me. I do not watch TV news at all and have never watched any of the news commentators. I occasionally check the local news, but only for the weather. I also have never listened to talk radio–I’m kind of a big fan of silence or just music. So-this is perhaps an opinion based on ignorance. It is my understanding the Republican party has more TV and radio commentators, so I think this is directed only to the news. The video clearly shows the electronic media fawning over Obama–the print media, not so much. I have also never read the Huffington blog (or whatever it is she does), but did read a one page interview with her last night. She made one (only) good point. She stated the media hits with a story and it’s up to the “blogsphere” to do all the follow-up. I absolutely agree with that. I used to do TV news and as I recall I only had 22 minutes to fill in a 30 minute broadcast, so this has become the world of “sound bites.” If I thought the broadcasts educated me or enriched my life in any regard, I would watch them. In my study of journalism ethics, none of these comments would have been permitted. Therefore, I can only conclude that journalist ethics is an oxymoron–there is not such thing. These comments are stupid.
I agree with you, David. I don’t watch the news shows either. I got disgusted with them a long time ago. Occasionally I’ll watch Brit Hume’s show on Fox, but only rarely.
Thanks for the comment.
After listening to 0bama speak in Germany I must admit that I am also hooked. What an amazing speach. All I can say is WOW!
Did you get a tingle up your leg?
Was there any substance to his speech or was it all change and hope? Or was it the large German crowd that got you; you know the people who can’t vote for him?
He talks pretty and that can’t be denied, but he says nothing. He said he’s on the finance committee in Israel, but he’s not on the finance committee. We can excuse his mistakes because as a State Senator in Illinois he voted present more than anything else and has spent just 140 +/- days in the US Senate since being elected almost four years ago. The rest of the time has been spent on the campaign trail.
Can you name a bill he has authored? He also thinks we have 57 states and he was born in the 50th so he should know better. Must be counting the territories.
Anyway, I suggest you and I form a Native American party and run for office. We have as much experience and if we put on buckskins and feathers we could probably get all the Europeans excited about us too. I’ve got some of Goslin’s moccasins but they’re women’s so you’ll have to make your own.

J, please don’t get me going.:-w
Actually, Guss, I’d like to get you going in the sense that you could tell us what of substance Obama had to say in Germany. Some of us are so disgusted that he has taken his campaign to Europe we just didn’t watch. Since you did maybe you can give us a re-cap.
