Commander-In-Chief
President George W. Bush:
“We are blessed to have defenders of such character and courage.”
“I’m grateful to the families who serve by your side. And I will always be thankful for the honor of having served as the Commander-in-Chief.”
Got A Minute?
Let’s Say Thanks is once again offering a unique, easy, no cost way to send personal messages to our troops this holiday season.
All of the postcards are designed by children and they each found their own way to say thank you to our troops who will spend the holidays away from loved ones.
Below is the card I selected and sent but there are many, many other terrific designs.
We Have Changed Hosting Companies
Because we were experiencing outages for almost full days with no feedback from our hosting company as to what was going on even after putting in trouble tickets, I have made the decision to change hosting companies immediately.
As far as I know everything is done except to tell the old host we will not be renewing our contract with them. The changes should be seamless since our name is already propagated, but if we should experience some down time you will know why.
I hope this gives our site more reliability for our readers, and we now have more space to do what needs to be done behind the scenes. No more deleting pictures, Sue.
We will also be able to get some features we were unable to get with the other host as they didn’t have the latest php program.
Again, bear with us if there is some down time, but I don’t expect it. The new company was Johnnie on the Spot with answering my questions and moving the site to their host.
This would not have been possible without the back room support of our web master Kim at SC Themes. Thank you, Kim!
Happy Thanksgiving
Count your blessings, eat hearty, enjoy the company you will keep, cheer for your favorite football team, drive safely and simply have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I Love This Idea!
While watching Fox and Friends this morning I saw that the entire Ohio State football team is wearing this bracelet. It simply says, “Thank you, God. I am grateful.” What a reminder on a lousy day to look at your wrist and remember how grateful you are for even the bad times.
You can order these, two in a package with the complete phrase, at Thank You Bracelets.com. A set of two is only three dollars so you can keep one for yourself and give one to your spouse or any other person. You can order more than one. I’m ordering mine today.
A portion of the proceeds from Thank You God I Am Grateful bracelets will benefit charities dedicated to helping children.
Does Our President Have to Go to Church to Prove He’s Christian?
As I look back over my life and remember the presidents I’ve lived under I remember many of them having private church services in the White House, sometimes with Billy Graham conducting the services and other times with other men of God preaching.
I remember President Clinton carrying a study Bible so thick it looked as though it would give him a hernia as he came out of a church for his photo op and then went to the Oval Office for a dalliance with “that woman, Ms. Lewinski”.
I recall hearing of President Bush attending services in Texas a few times but I have never seen him leave the church. I know he professes Christ to be his Savior and he seems outwardly to live that life.
Now comes word that President-elect Obama has decided to skip church and go to the gym instead.
I’ve been having trouble in my prayer life because as a Christian I am commanded to pray for the leaders of our country that our lives will be easier. I don’t know whether or not to ask God’s blessings on Mr. Obama, as I don’t know his feelings about God. I pray that God will give him wisdom and if he does not know Jesus something will happen that will move his heart to accept Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. I pray that he will be successful for our country’s sake, but I don’t know how to pray for him.
I guess I have lived too sheltered a life as I am just learning in the past few years how many people in this world and indeed this country are rejecting the message of the Gospel.
I am amazed at how people can blaspheme God and dare to do it. They mock Him and say He doesn’t exist. I even have a family member who says he believes in the Great Spirit but he doesn’t have a Son named Jesus Christ. This hurts my heart because I know what the destination is of the soul of this loved-one if he doesn’t go back to his childhood teachings and ask Jesus to be Lord of his life.
I am amazed at how people think God changes. Those people protesting the gay marriage proposal in California and across the country seem to think as long as the are “good” they will go to heaven and because it’s 2008 God has changed His mind on homosexuality. He never changes. I just give you the message…He gave the rules.
People try so hard to make God completely human, when He is a Spirit and created humans. He can out think the greatest mind ever imagined on this earth. He can step into space and time and exists outside of both because He made the laws of physics and can break them at His will.
We are also spirits. What do you think your soul is if it isn’t a spirit? When we die our vessels for our physical selves (our bodies) rot in the ground while the soul, our spirit, immediately steps out of this plane and into a spiritual plane. Whether it be the spiritual plane of Heaven or the spiritual plane of hell is our decision in this lifetime. When we are dead it is too late for anyone else to do anything to get us out of Hell.
People may joke and say they’ll join their friends in hell, but it won’t be a joking matter when they find themselves in there. Their friends will be in the same torment they are in and won’t have the time to search them out even if there is light to see. I believe hell will be a dark place where souls will wander forever with no hope of ever having their pain relieved. They will acknowledge God has a Son named Jesus Christ, but it will be too late for them. I don’t wish that fate on my worst enemy.
I’m far from the perfect Christian. I will humble myself before God at the Great Throne and be ever so thankful that He provided a way for me to have fellowship with Him forever. I will probably try to be a wallflower and not be noticed, but I’ll have to answer for what I did for Him after I got saved. This is why I talk about Him so much. My mission is to tell others about the saving grace of the blood of Jesus Christ, who died that we all might live eternally.
We don’t just cease to exist as an animal without a soul does. I wish that were true for those who are lost, but it isn’t.
I was told last week by someone I love, “I’m glad I don’t have to worry about all that.” Well, one day this person will have to worry about that and will wish he had listened and it will be too late. That breaks my heart.
I don’t even know if my own son is saved and I pray every day for his salvation or his return to the Lord like the Prodigal Son if he was indeed saved at age eight, when he asked if he could be baptized and we questioned him on his faith and beliefs.
This is a terrible burden for any parent to carry. But the Lord has told us in Proverbs to “train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” I hang onto this promise for the two I have mentioned here. I know both were trained up in the way they should go and I believe God’s promise that when they are old they will not depart from it.
I have seen in my own life how long in man’s terms it can take God to answer a prayer. I prayed for over forty years to meet my biological father. I should say forty years before I met him I prayed for a couple of years to meet him and then just forgot about it. But, when the time was right, God dropped the information into my lap and made my biological father accepting of meeting me. We had a wonderful 26 months of knowing one another until he died.
I would have been satisfied with just the first meeting, but God had more in store for me. What a loving relationship we had and I still feel it in my stomach some nearly five years after he died.
God didn’t say no and He didn’t grant my prayer immediately because He knew neither my father nor I was ready, but instead He said, “Wait, my child” and when the time was right, He arranged it all.
Who else can love me so much He will grant my most urgent wish and at the right time in my life? He can do that for you too. If you’ve lost a child you know that child will not come back in this life, but if that child was old enough to know right from wrong and was saved he or she is waiting for you in Heaven. If that child rejected Christ he or she wouldn’t want you to be in hell, but would want you to be in Heaven to escape what he or she is experiencing right now. He or she knows you won’t meet up in hell because the torture will be so great you will only be concerned with yourself.
Just as the President of the United States has the authority to pardon any federal criminal, Jesus holds in His hand a pardon offered to you. It will pardon all your past, present and future sins, regardless of what they are. All you have to do to accept that pardon is invite Him into your life as your Lord and Savior and He will come in and sup with you and you with Him. The angels in Heaven will rejoice at your salvation. Give it a try. The alternative is too awful to even think about.
I’m Going to Start a Business
I figure with all the money we have loaned out over the years without repayment my husband and I should start a bank so we can get some bailout money to help us out since all our retirement funds are in mutual funds. That should make us whole again and we’ll promise Congress we’ll be sure to give more money away to people who don’t need it.
Or we could start an auto manufacturing plant. We already have three vehicles off the assembly line and sitting in the driveway. We won’t give rebates or zero percent interest, but then again we won’t buy several corporate jets and we’ll tell Congress we have no plan. We’ll just beg for the money with our tin cups out and explain how all the people down the line from the cafe next door to the steel workers and rubber workers will all be out of jobs if we don’t get enough money to last another month. We’ll be back next month again with the same story.
We’ll be sure to let the unions strip us of all money we get and we won’t bother to try to design a vehicle the public would want to buy with the quality they want. All we need to do is scare everyone and they’ll give us the money.
Never mind that our government is having to borrow the money from China and other countries or just print money to pay for the bailouts of failed businesses. That’s their concern and right now they don’t seem too concerned. We’ll all start eating rice and drinking contaminated milk before this is over.
I was always taught not to borrow money to invest it. If you don’t have it you can’t invest. Now we live in an upside-down Alice in Wonderland world of economics. We borrow to lend and the people we lend to keep borrowing and not paying it back.
I’m not an economist and don’t pretend to be one, but I’m tired of all the panic I hear on the news. What did the people in Adam’s day do for money? They traded goods and services, right? I guess I could plant a garden and get a few goats and cows to trade for services if I had to. It might be nice to get back to a simple life.
All I know is Jesus said if God takes care of the birds in the air who do nothing for a living how much more will He take care of us. It’s in God’s hands in our household, even as we watch a couple of years of retirement money disappear in one month. Pretty soon we’ll have to pay the companies to hold their stock.
This is such a temporary situation when compared to eternity. This is a time to try men’s souls and faith. Ours is strong and we know God will provide for us. We will continue to tithe our money each month and if the money runs out and we have to go to livestock we’ll tithe that too by selling off the livestock.
The point is, quit worrying. It isn’t going to make anything better anyway. Thank God for your blessings. Count them up and you’ll be surprised. We have shelter, food, clothing, health, family, friends, a church we can count on for moral support and financial too, if need be. We are rich! Compare it to the people in third world countries or even in poorer parts of our own country.
Our God is sufficient for all our needs. That’s all that matters.
Taking The Charity Out Of The Church
Will the New York City government take responsibility when someone freezes to death due to their ridiculous rules?
Sure they will. Right?
Back In The Swing Of Things Soon..I Hope
Sorry for the light posting folks but as I continue to rehab from the broken foot I am also now nursing hubby as he is in a cast from wrist to shoulder on his predominant side. Fun, fun.
Just one of those time which we all face when an inconvenience results in our not finding time nor inclination to do much beyond the necessary. We are fortunate though, our situations are temporary and with any luck we will be back to “normal” in short order.
Enough of that..check this out:

Be Careful With Those Pardons Mr. President….Updated
Not having done enough to attempt to ruin a sitting President of the United States with their malicious words and actions, another member of Congress is now weighing in on exactly how President Bush should use his pardon power:
A departing president probably can’t help thinking about the judgment of history. At the end of eight years, President Bush likely isn’t any different. With the nation’s attention focused on his successor, it may seem as if there is little opportunity left for the current president to affect how he will be viewed. But there is one power left — the power of the pardon — that could, if it’s abused, create a controversy that both the president and the public could live without.
The power of the pardon is close to absolute. Short of interfering with their own impeachment, presidents can pardon whomever they choose. At the end of his term, however, this president should think twice before issuing pardons that call his judgment, and the integrity of the rule of law, into question.
If President Bush were to pardon key individuals involved in the misdeeds of his administration, from warrantless wiretapping to torture to the firing of U.S. attorneys for political reasons, the courts would be unable to address criminality, or pass judgment on the legality of some of the president’s worst abuses. Issuing such pardons now would be particularly egregious, since voters just issued such a strong condemnation of the Bush administration at the ballot box. There is nothing to prevent President Bush from using the pardon in such a short-sighted and self-serving manner — except, perhaps, public pressure that may itself be a window on the judgment of history. Everyone who can exert that pressure, from members of Congress to the press and the public, should express their views on whether it would be appropriate for President Bush to use his pardon power in this way.
I have exactly two words for you Senator Feingold..Marc Rich.
*Update: One other thing..you know that rumor that Eric Holder is in contention for the Attorney General position? Not only was he instrumental in the Marc Rich pardon but also this:
In 1999, over the objections of the FBI, the Bureau of Prisons, and prosecuting attorneys, Holder supported Clinton’s commutation of the sentences of 16 FALN conspirators. These pardons — of terrorists who even Holder has conceded had not expressed any remorse — were issued in the months after al-Qaeda’s 1998 U.S. embassy bombings, when the Clinton administration was pretending to be the scourge of terrorism. The commutations were nakedly political, obviously designed by Clinton to assist his wife’s impending Senate campaign by appealing to New York’s substantial Puerto Rican vote.
The past has a way of coming back to haunt you when you throw too many stones. The Democrats and some Republicans have thrown their fair share at President Bush. We’ll see exactly where it lands them (and us) in the coming four years.
Living With Caylee
Almost four weeks ago we adopted an 8 week old mini-schnauzer puppy and named her Caylee.
She has brought a lot of smiles in the house and a lot of “no’s” too. Sometimes she must think her name is “No, Caylee.”
When we got her she weighed 2.4 pounds and the jacket we had for her was way too big. We still used it since she didn’t have much fur.
Yesterday she had her 11 week check-up and has exactly doubled her weight. Because we got down to the lower twenties last night we had to put her jacket back on her and discovered, to our amazement, it is getting too small! It barely velcroes around her neck and belly and instead of hanging over the edge of her bottom it is now about an inch or so up her back from her bottom.
Caylee wants to dominate us, a trait we discovered is common in the breed, so now we are having to make her sit before she eats, goes out or gets held.
She also likes to nip as all puppies do and I had to get creative with that. “Stop!” or “No!” weren’t doing the trick, so yesterday the vet suggested a water pistol or bottle to squirt her when she’s bad. Before we could get that I had to figure out what to do. When she tried to use me for a chew toy I started to call her name and growl at her. She immediately stopped, sniffed my mouth (no, she didn’t pass out) and then started licking me. I just won’t be able to growl at her in public or they’ll commit me.
Today, this puppy who hates her crate, actually went into it for nap time. She’s taking obedience training and can sit, watch us, touch us and go down. This past Saturday’s lesson was on loose leash walking and she seems to be adjusting to that. Next week is “leave it” week, so I look forward to how we can make her do that.
In the above photo you see her at ten weeks. My husband took the shot, so excuse the back end.
I’ll keep you posted on her progress, as we hope to have a well-behaved dog by the time this is over.
Malia and Sasha Obama Get The First Look At What Will Be Their Bedrooms At The White House
It’s hard to imagine what the two young daughters of President-Elect Obama might have been thinking as they viewed their new bedrooms at the White House:
Barack Obama’s two young girls discovered what will become their future bedrooms at the White House on the first visit to their future home since their father’s election as US president.
Twins Barbara and Jenna Bush, who will be 27 next week, “enjoyed showing their rooms to the Obama girls,” said Sally McDonough, spokeswoman for Laura Bush.
Malia Obama, 10, and her sister Sasha, seven, the youngest children to enter the White House in a generation, were joined by their mother, Michelle, and grandmother, Marian Robinson for a visit that lasted approximately an hour at the invitation of Laura Bush, added McDonough.
Elephants Have Musical Preferences Too
Even elephants appear to appreciate the power of music:
The rousing, patriotic sweep of Elgar’s Nimrod, the mournful tones of Nessun Dorma and the urgent eight-note allegro con brio opening to Beethoven’s fifth – they have all been helping animal behaviour experts to make life more comfortable for the elephants at Belfast zoo.
The researchers have discovered that playing classical music to the animals reduces abnormal behaviours such as swaying, pacing and trunk tossing, although they said elephants don’t seem to have a favourite composer.
“We tend to see in some situations that elephants don’t cope well with captivity just because they have this inherent instinct to roam vast distances,” said Dr Deborah Wells at Queen’s University in Belfast. “The rationale underlying this study is really to try and improve their welfare and in particular to try to improve these stereotypic patterns of behaviour that elephants are prone to.”
Gee, I wonder if they would react the same to the music that “soothes the soul:” [Bob Segar's music and Disney movies might be just the ticket]
Another Absurd and Senseless Crime
Take the color of ones skin out of the equation and please explain to me who in their right mind does something like this:
A black man from Mississippi has been arrested and accused of sending racist death threats over the Internet to three black students at Louisiana’s Nicholls State University.
The FBI in New Orleans said Dyron Hart, 19, was arrested Wednesday. He is accused of sending the messages by way of the students’ Facebook accounts. The messages contained racial epithets and death threats and were sent to two black women and a black man at Nicholls State in Thibodaux, La.
The author of those messages cast himself as a white man who intended to kill blacks because Barack Obama was elected president.
Hart told an FBI agent that he sent the messages to “get a reaction,” according to the agent’s sworn statement.
The criminal complaint was filed in U.S. District Court in New Orleans. U.S. Attorney Jim Letten’s office said Hart made his initial court appearance in Biloxi. It was unclear when he would be brought to New Orleans.
Although the case sprang from a probe into messages sent to the three Nicholls State students, the FBI agent’s statement said Hart also admitted sending the message to students at other institutions, including LSU, the University of Mississippi and the University of Alabama.
Is it hatred, stupidity, seeking 15 minutes of fame or is a person like this simply unstable? Whatever the answer, Mr. Hart has now received a “reaction” on which he no doubt did not plan.

Changes
As any regular visitor can see, we have changed the look of our site. It basically gives us more behind-the-scenes help, but one thing you can do immediately is finally get the text to go larger or smaller. Look to the right of posts and you will see a “text size” option. Use the drop-down list to set it to your preference.
This is in the post areas only and not the sidebar area. You can go as large as 30 point type or as small as 8 or 10 point type.
We hope you like this new feature, and hope the design is pleasant to the eye.
Our thanks to Kim from S C Themes for our design work.
A Very Touching Story
This is a very inspiring story about the University of Georgia football coach and his family:
No More Bailouts for Auto or Any Other Industry
As Detroit’s Big Three auto makers continue to clamor for more aid from Washington and Congressional leadership works to make it happen, the plan appears to be facing significant resistance.
The auto makers — General Motors (GM: 3.16, +0.24, +8.22%), Ford Motor (F: 1.90, +0.10, +5.55%) and Chrysler — have been meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, (D, Calif.) and others in Washington to ask for additional help on top of $25 billion in low-interest loans they’ve already received, including billions of dollars in loans already granted. They’ve also been speaking in dire terms about their ability to survive without additional help.
General Motors, in particular, seems to be in difficulty. The company is burning through cash so quickly that it might not be able to fund its operations past the end of the year. Ford is in trouble as well, though it said last week that it should be able to survive in the near term. Link
How many more of our dollars is Congress going to spend to bail out every industry that hasn’t kept up with the times? First the financial institutions and now the auto industry.
AIG is taking extravagant trips everywhere for their big shots and we are footing the bill.
Now Detroit wants us to pony up more money for an industry that can’t stay afloat on its own for more than a few weeks at best.
It’s time to lay the blame where it belongs. Detroit has not designed products that are desirable or even great quality. I haven’t bought an American car since I bought a 1974 Plymouth Scamp. We have bought Nissans and then switched to Toyota many years ago because we got more quality and a bigger bang for our buck.
The UAW has finally priced themselves out of a job and should join in with the managers of the auto companies in accepting the blame. Let them cut wages and benefits. Who gets laid off with almost full pay these days except this union that dominates the city of Detroit?
Congress calls for more environmentally safe cars and gives the auto industry $25 billion to re-tool, and yet they have the nerve to come back with their hand out and Pelosi and soon the Obama administration will give them what they want.
When my office closed no one offered a big package to save the company, which ultimately was bought by a French company.
We helped our landscaper start his business. If he went out of business he wouldn’t have the government bail him out from his foolish mistakes.
It’s time to put the brakes on these greedy companies and let congress stand up to their special interest unions. Make them renegotiate their contracts downward to save the company. It’s better to take a pay cut than to have no job.
And, yes, we are talking about a lot of jobs. My husband and I lost 2 1/2 years of income just in the month of October. This is the money we planned to live on for the rest of our lives. We retired thinking we had enough money to last us and leave something to our children and grandchildren.
We were responsible. We paid our bills on time, we didn’t go in over our heads, we paid off our house and now we have to sacrifice our future to bail out companies that didn’t act as responsibly as we and most people on a budget act.
We need to write to congress and make phone calls, send emails or whatever it takes to show we are no longer willing to mortgage our future with dollars that are worth less and less, all so the elite can keep up their lifestyle.
Hopefully, these high paid employees of the auto industry have saved money and will get good benefits and pay from their union to tide them over until they can be trained for a different job. It may not pay what they are used to, but that’s life anymore.
Maybe I’m too jaded, but I have no sympathy for any industry so stupid as to be behind the times for the past thirty or so years.
Watch the Obama administration and the democrat Congress give them your hard-earned dollars and raise your taxes. Otherwise, they would lose a big bloc of voters.
And So The Transition Begins……
When the presidency of George W. Bush draws to its end in January there is one thing which is a safe bet. His successor will have been offered every opportunity for a smooth, seamless transition.
While many have disagreed with his policies from time to time (yes, even Conservatives), President Bush proves once again that what he wants now and has always wanted is what’s best for the country
in its governance:
Bush expressed minimal regret that his chosen successor John McCain lost to Obama, saying “my choice didn’t win,” and saying that the Democrat’s victory was “good for the country” — and that his success was in America’s interest.
“It is good for our country that people have hope in the system and feel vested in the future and president-elect Obama has a great opportunity. I really do wish him all the best,” said Bush.
“It is good for our country that the president succeeds. The transition that we are working with him on is a genuine effort to help him be able to deal with the pressures and the complicated issues of the presidency,” he said.
Bush detailed how Obama, after their policy discussion, had raised “his little girls, how would they like the White House” and that during a tour of the residence section of the mansion “he wanted to see where his little girls were going to sleep.”
As President-Elect Obama draws closer to the most cumbersome job he will ever face he is a fortunate man. He has majorities in both Houses to assist him with his agenda. There are factions of the press who may very well allow him a permanent “honeymoon” period.
He also has something else in his corner which President Bush never had. He will have the good wishes and quiet departure of our sitting President.
Mr. Bush will relinquish the reins of power to his duly elected successor with the same dignity and humility with which he assumed the office and like his Dad I sense a silent future with regards to criticism of any current or past president. Anything less given the nature of the man, would be a huge disappointment.
President Bush Addresses Our Veterans
It’s a little late in the day but as this is President Bush’s final Veteran’s Day address (excerpts) I felt it was fitting to post it:
Veterans Day Tribute

Prayer Request
Please take a moment to offer up a prayer for the Anchoress, her husband, and their children:
Spent all of today in the company of nurses, cardiologists, and so forth with my dear husband, who had mild-but-persistent chest pains over the weekend. They had “mostly†abated by this morning, and he was preparing to travel, but I couldn’t see my way to letting him get on a plane with chest pain “mostly†gone, and insisted that we get things checked out.
Things are less conclusive than we’d like – not a heart attack, thankfully, but whether he’s headed for one is another question. He, of course, is insisting that he’s a he-man and “completely fine with a little indisposition, okay, maybe angina…†I am not over-reacting but I’m not at-ease, either, and more tests are needed later this week. If you could keep us all in your prayers, that we get through this bump in the road without overturning the cart, we’d appreciate it.
Thanks.
Home With Honor
I’ve seen many a homecoming for deployed US military over the years but never one quite like this:
Sgt. Tyson Two Two stood on a war blanket provided by his family, a traditional Northern Cheyenne Tribe war bonnet perfectly complementing his dress blues, as drummers and singers welcomed him home.
Saturday afternoon in the baggage claim lobby of Billings Logan International Airport, Two Two, 24, a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, was welcomed home from a seven-month tour in Iraq by about 50 family members and friends from the Northern Cheyenne reservation.

Is Obama the anti-christ? I Don’t Think So
A lot of people are asking if Barack Obama is the anti-christ.
Since I’m not an expert in the subject I can only go by what I have learned over the years.
The anti-christ is supposed to be the mirror-image of the real Christ, Jesus. He will be the exact opposite of Jesus. Wrong will be right, up will be down, good is bad etc. Everything I have read and heard about the anti-christ is that he will rise from eastern Europe and possibly even be a Jew. This disqualifies Obama right off the bat.
Do I believe the end is near? Yes, I do, and for reason, even though the New Testament saints also believed the end was near. However, if we look to our bibles and read what the Lord reveals to us we can see the end is near. We can open the bible and compare it to the newspaper of today and see exactly how things are falling into place.
Jesus said when the fig tree began to bloom the generation that saw it come to pass would not pass away before He returned. The fig tree is the symbol for Israel in this context. On May 24, 1948 we saw the birth of the new nation of Israel after the Jews had been scattered all over the world for generations.
When Jesus was on this earth no one referred to the land of the Jews as Israel. Yet, the bible tells us in the Old Testament the country would be called Israel, and history shows us there were not many names considered for the new Jewish homeland except Israel. Yes, others were considered, but the name Israel was chosen.
I happen to be a pre-tribulation Rapture believer. That means I believe Jesus will return for the dead saints’ bodies and the living saints (once you are a true believer you are a saint) and remove the Holy Ghost from this realm before the tribulation. Some people think it will happen 3 1/2 years into the tribulation, or half-way through it. Still others believe it will not happen until after the tribulation, but I believe that cannot be true, because the restraining power of the Holy Ghost will be withdrawn during the tribulation. And let me tell you, the tribulation ain’t gonna be no picnic for anyone who is living through it. This rapture, or taking up of the saints, will be secret. It will come as a thief in the night. One second you’ll be here and the next you’ll be gone. People left behind will wonder what has happened, but soon the evil powers of the anti-christ will convince them of some sort of story whey we are no longer seen.
I believe the United Nations will be a part of end-times and I believe the European Union will be the one-world government that will reign over the earth during that time.
Daniel’s interpretation of the king’s dream seems to indicate that. The ten toes of iron and clay represent the ten nations of the revived Roman empire. This will mean some of the EU countries will have to be dropped or absorbed into another country. Some of the EU countries are not full members, so it could be only full members would be the one-world government. I don’t know.
The bible tells us there will be a charismatic leader who will be the anti-christ and will eventually be indwelt by Satan himself. For the first half of the seven year tribulation this man will promise peace in Israel and the world. He will make a peace treaty of seven years with Israel and guarantee their safety. But, after 3 1/2 years he will break that treaty and things will become even worse. The world will go from the tribulation to the great tribulation.
Obama fits the profile of the charasmatic person but, at least in my belief, he does not fit the profile of the anti-christ. Actually, nowhere in Revelation is there a symbol of the United States. This means we have been destroyed or weakened to the point of irrelevance.
I see this happening already, and know from what the president-elect has said, our military will be cut back and that will make us weaker. He will go to the UN for foreign policy issues, just as Bill Clinton did. Terrorists will be treated as criminals and not as terrorists fighting in an army with no uniform. He will attempt to take them to court, just as Bill Clinton did.
I believe that just as John the Baptist was the forerunner of Jesus the Christ, perhaps Barack Obama will be the forerunner of the anti-christ. John the Baptist said he had to diminish himself when Jesus came upon the scene as He prepared to minister. Obama may be the one who will diminish himself when the real anti-christ comes to do his dirty deed.
I can’t tell you this is the truth, because it’s just my feeling and I haven’t heard it expressed by anyone else. I’m talking about Obama being the forerunner of the anti-christ. But, if the anti-christ is the mirror image of Christ then it makes sense to me that there has to be a John the Baptist type person for the anti-christ. I don’t even see this theory in the bible. It’s just a feeling I have and I could be wrong, so don’t believe what I say about this as truth, but as conjecture.
I don’t know who the anti-christ is, but I feel he is already born because the people born in 1948 are turning sixty now. Not much time left before the generation all dies out. Sure, some can reach age 100, and since I don’t know the definition of not all passing it could take another forty years.
I don’t care who the anti-christ is because it is my belief that because I am a born-again Christian I will not be here when he starts his reign of terror. I will either have gone to heaven the conventional way or be taken up with the Church to be with Christ forevermore.
I long for heaven these days. No more achy back. No more sorrow over lost or sick loved ones. No more worries about whether or not our savings will be enough to last until we die, especially with the economy the way it is now. Best of all I will be in the very Presence of my Savior forever and ever.
It won’t be boring. It will be anything but boring. After being able to converse with our God we can meet up with friends and loved ones from this life and even probe the minds of people like Moses, Job, Joshua, Esther, Peter, John, Matthew etc. We can probably even see everything as it happened for real if we wish to do so.
I know I’ll have a mansion. Whether that mansion is on the top floor of a huge building or in the slums of heaven it will be much better than anything on earth. The human mind cannot imagine what God has in store for us even though we deserve none of it.
Until then I’ll go on singing God’s praises. I’ll point out areas of disagreement with the new administration and hope to be able to point out good things that are done.
Don’t worry about who the anti-christ is because if you’re saved you won’t know anyway, and if you’re not saved you’ll know soon enough.
Can’t You Feel The Love?
We can sleep well tonight..the world thinks Americans are “cool” due to the election of Barack Obama:
Wow. the past eight years were a real downer. It was such a bummer not being hip and cool.l Excuse me while I go dig out my lovebeads and wait for the Revival of Woodstock.
Must be a generational thing don’t you think?
