Brit Hume Says Farewell To Special Report

One of the most impartial reporters I have ever had the pleasure of viewing, Brit Hume, signed off as anchor of “Special Report with Brit Hume” Tuesday evening.

Actually, he’s not one of the most impartial reporters; he is the most impartial reporter I have ever had the pleasure of watching.

Sure, when he’s a panelist on “Fox News Sunday” you know pretty much his political views, but when he’s reporting the news he does it the way I remember Walter Cronkite doing it before he made public his views on the Viet Nam War. You can’t tell which side he falls on, and that’s the way news should be.

Brit will be succeeded in his nightly spot by Bret Baier, who will do a great job in the seat.

Here’s a tribute to Brit from his co-workers:

I’m going to miss you, Brit, but I’ll be watching “Fox News Sunday” and those specials you plan to do.

Best wishes on your retirement.
