Harry Reid: “We Should Be Proud of It and We Are Proud of It”

I’m glad he’s proud of it. Look at the cheshire cat Schumer behind him.

I’ve found a few things I wanted to share to get the word out:

Gateway Pundit has this up now:

CBO Predicts Recession Will End in 2009 Without Stimulus

CBO anticipates that the current recession, which started in December 2007, will last until the second half of 2009, making it the longest recession since World War II. (The longest such recessions otherwise, the 1973–1974 and 1981–1982 recessions, both lasted 16 months. If the current recession were to continue beyond midyear, it would last at least 19 months.) It could also be the deepest recession during the postwar period: By CBO’s estimates, economic output over the next two years will average 6.8 percent below its potential—that is, the level of output that would be produced if the economy’s resources were fully employed (see Figure 1). This ecession, however, may not result in the highest unemployment rate. That rate, in CBO’s forecast, rises to 9.2 percent by early 2010 (up from a low of 4.4 percent at the end of 2006) but is still below the 10.8 percent rate seen near the end of the 1981–1982 recession.

He also has the reminder in the post that the CBO said the stimulus would actually hurt and not help the economy.

Send the info to your friends and tell Congress as well!

A website to check out, if you haven’t seen it already:

    Read the Stimulus

They finally received a copy of the bill–it was evidently sent out late last night–and now have a searchable form online.

A group of signatories sent a letter on the 7th, asking Reid for a copy and for a five day time of review by the public after publication.

Given our understanding of the schedule for a vote at 5:30pm Monday, [cloture vote] there are now just under 40 hours until the vote, unless of course Majority Leader Reid heeds the call of our open letter and delays the vote to allow Senators — and the public — time to actually read the bill.

Call your senator again (I’ve already emailed and called and I assume others may have already done so.) and tell them there should not be a cloture vote until Friday at the earliest.

I know Friday is a pipe dream, but every day helps shine the light on this generational theft bill and lessens the chance that it will pass.

Remember to pray. God, not man, is sovereign.

One other website to be aware of:

    SurgeUSA

Their heading at the top of the page:

Grow local leadership, not the federal bureaucracy: Awakening patriots to defend our freedom to choose against the liberal insurgency in America.

I hadn’t seen this one before today, so obviously I don’t know much about it: its sponsors or credibility. I do prefer it when a website like that has an About page and lists the contributors. The only bio there that I saw is just one man listed under Media Room.

However, it does look as if they are putting together a clearinghouse for useful information.

  • Sue:

    Thanks for the links INC.

I plan on crediting you for them in a post for Monday as there is valuable information to be gleaned from each.

  • INC:

    You’re welcome, Sue.

I am glad to provide the information. You don’t need to credit me, although you are kind to offer that.

Here’s one more item you might want to post. The Astute Bloggera have information on phone numbers, staff and email addresses of Specter, Collins and Snowe.

  • ~J~:

INC, Thank you so very much for the great links. As Sue said she will be making a post about it. Expect an email from her, btw.

    Hey, J!

    Have a good week!
