Let’s Take a Trip Down Memory Lane, Shall We?

The year is 2005. Not so long ago. The event is President Bush’s State of the Union speech when he was talking about reforming Social Security.

Let’s watch and listen to the reaction from the left, and then tell me Joe Wilson was out of order. Not polite maybe, but definitely not out of order and it seems he didn’t set a precedent.

The point is for me that I agree with what the Representative said and if he was a Democrat he would be being applauded for “calling out” the President.

You did not hear the Dem’s apologize for their behavior in regard to President Bush and never will. They are still attempting to demonize the man.

Herein lies the problem though. The double standard which exists in Washington does not allow for behavior on both sides of the aisle to be equal and we know that. The fact that Congressman Wilson apologized immediately speaks volumes as I am certain he is aware that the Democrats are on the ropes right now with many issues and the focus should remain on them not a situation such as this.

Again, I concur with the congressman in his thinking, but I was not in favor of the behavior of the Dem’s when President Bush spoke, and given the current political climate think perhaps Wilson could have chosen a better venue for his remark.
