Student Chastised For Drawing The American Flag

I had not planned on posting this evening, but when I saw this,

I felt it important that it be shared with as many people as possible.

If the American flag is found to be offensive by any teacher in this country, then they should be relieved of their duties and shown the door to any country which would serve them better in their beliefs.

How sad for this young lady who obviously believes in her faith and her country that she has to be subjected to an educator who, no doubt, would prefer this:

to the beautiful depiction of our Flag which Miss Hathaway took the time to produce.

I’m with you young lady, and I have to believe most of America would be too, because if they are not, then we have truly lost our way.

  • She should have asked her teacher to look out in the front yard of the school and tell her what she saw flying on the highest flagpole. Then she should have asked her if she was Offended by seeing it every day at her place of employment.

    • Sue:

I find it an absolute disgrace that we continue to witness these attempts by teachers to force their political beliefs on our children.

If this teacher finds the American flag so offensive then I am very serious..she should leave the country and find a country whose flag she can cherish.

It is fine for every individual to have their own political thoughts and beliefs, however, educators have more than enough to do in teaching children that they do not need, at these ages especially, to attempt to transfer their feelings to their students. It’s enough that so many colleges and universities in this country attempt to do the same.

  • This is DISGRACEFUL! What a jackass of a teacher. I would like to know, was it the “God” or the flag? I bet it was both.

    • Sue:

Unfortunately, I have to think you are absolutely correct Manny.

What really frosted me also is that she was told to apologize and at the airing of this story has not done so.

This is exactly what happens when people feel so secure in their jobs that they believe they are beyond disciplinary action.

      • You’re right. I wanted to hope she gets fired, but i pulled back. Losing a job is a hard thing for anyone to face and not worth her sin, but she should be severely reprimanded.

  • My daughter teaches middle school social studies and something else. Can’t remember because we don’t discuss work too much, but she has to teach the students all about the Muslim faith and every other faith but can’t mention Christianity.

    Something strange in this picture.

I read the other day of a teacher who is suing the school district where she is to be able to flunk students who are not up to grade level.

When I was a kid everyone waited for the final report card to see if they passed and some didn’t. Now everyone passes whether they’ve learned the material taught or not.

  • From speaking to a man from France, it seems quite clear they don’t consider themselves a citizen of any country, but citizens of the world. They laugh that we would even display our flags.

I proudly fly my flag every day and every night (lights on it, of course), along with the state flag which is just a blue background with a quarter moon and palmetto tree. No confederate flag or flag parts on it or I wouldn’t fly it.
