Bendigo Racing Tips: Wednesday, April 20th

Wednesday racing in Victoria heads to Bendigo for a solid eight race card.

The track is currently rated a heavy 10 with more rain predicted on race day so best to keep an eye on weather closer to start time. The rail is out 5 metres.

Billy Bestford has previewed his best bets on the card and will be betting into four races throughout the day.

(8) Baekdu ran 2nd at first two career starts both at $1.60. Those two runs were solid enough and were on rain affected tracks. He was well backed first up but put in a very green performance, hanging badly and tailing off. Has trialled since and looked good and I think he can bounce back.

Wary of the Kiwi visitor (12) Solstice who has trialled well on wet ground. Interesting to see what the market does with her.

(10) Kaleidoscope Eyes has some strong form around her last prep on soft tracks. Looked the goods at a recent jumpout and sure to improve this prep.

(5) Stay In Touch is flying in his first prep and the heavy track last start seemed to suit him just as well as dry. He beat a good one there and looks progressive, rises in grade for this but can settle closer from the inside draw and can be hard to hold out again.

(8) Rambeau can run a race having first start since being gelded. Always shown ability and that might be what he needed to get his mind on the job now.

(7) Charm Wing looks the value runner. Can mix form but been competitive in stronger than this.

(3) Brave Star has been good at his first two runs in Australia and looks ready to win now 3rd up and gets favoured conditions now. I like him rising to 1500m and I think they’ll take him back from the gate and let him run home like he did last start. Race fitness will be a big positive on this testing track.

(5) King Of Pharoahs is an up and coming stayer and looks to be quite progressive. A recent jumpout was good behind Star Of Chaos.

(2) Confrontational can probably lead here and might be able to get things all to his liking with little speed in the race.

(6) House Spouse was super impressive winning on debut last prep on a heavy track by over 6L. Gets similar conditions today and he has jumped out really well. Think he can go to a new level having his second prep now.

(10) Teramia is better than 64 grade on her day and looks ready to do something now with two good runs this prep. I actually think getting onto a wet track will suit her and she looks to get a great run in transit.

(1) Marketing was a good return fresh and is a 2nd up winner. Best is over further but wouldn’t shock to see him run well here.

(11) Zagusto is worth another chance at a decent price.
