Reality shows are not a favorite type of programming in our house but we do make an exception when it comes to Nashville Star.
Melissa Lawson in the short clip below, came to the show with one of the truest country voices from an amateur I had heard in a very long time.
Melissa is a thirty two year old mother of five young boys and yes, she did win this competition last evening.
Here’s one of my favorite performances by this (hopefully) up and coming country artist ( very short bio prior to performance):
When one sets aside their own chance at personal wealth and seeks no notoriety for their accomplishments, they qualify as a special individual in my humble opinion.
Kaziah Hancock has used her talents to comfort those who have suffered a terrible loss.
To me, not just an incredible artist, but a wonderful, selfless person.
Over the years I have seen many beautiful sand sculptures, but the team of international artists who labored over the work in this video did the medium proud.
What a beautiful way to enjoy “Animals of the World.”
Imagine the patience and talent it requires to work with one sheet of paper and produce a work of art such as the one below.
Peter Callesen is obviously a man who has the ability to do so.

I have long admired those accomplished in the art of origami but my respect for its intricacy grew ten fold upon viewing this video. What amazing talent!
